Calls for a Rumour Observatory
Information security and performance development consultant Abdalnour Sami said: “Unfortunately, there are no official observatories dedicated to rumours, despite their widespread circulation and the harm they cause to individuals, groups and countries. Existing observatories are independent initiatives and platforms that work to debunk rumours within a particular geographical area or digital space, such as the Anti-Rumour Authority, Eekad, Cyberina and others. Some are supported by European associations or businesspeople.”
