Dubai’s 2020 Forum Discusses Future Strategies and Challenges

The 2020 Forum opened yesterday morning at Dubai’s Roda Al Murooj Hotel, bringing together Arab leaders and experts from government institutions, international organisations and businesses at regional and international levels to discuss post-2020 strategies and future challenges.
Ali Al Kamali, managing director of Datamatix and chairman of the organising committee, said the forum reflects the UAE leadership’s pioneering vision for developing forward-looking institutional models across different fields.
In the opening sessions, University of Dubai president Dr Eesa Al Bastaki discussed the latest scientific approaches and leadership excellence practices for improving institutional performance beyond 2020, achieving results and understanding global strategies and practices.
Information security consultant Sami A Nour reviewed strategies for strengthening digital trust in a connected world, augmented reality and the latest innovations. He explored solutions for turning a technology-enhanced future into reality through digital transformation, smart government and the development of institutional systems.
Institutional Innovation
Strategist Nizar Khan, director of FB Global Developments, discussed the future of institutional innovation and blockchain’s role in creating added value and improving efficiency across economic sectors.
Entrepreneur and Levenbert chairman Dr Ahmed Tahlak presented a paper on developing economic knowledge and its relationship with institutional and broader economic competitiveness. He also examined investment based on knowledge-economy analysis, the future of the national economy, and integrated support for institutions that responds to global developments.
Leadership Development
Information technology expert and Huawei data centre official George Sebastiao reviewed international practices in institutional leadership development, innovation and stronger organisational integration amid advances in fifth-generation information technology.
Discussion sessions explored strategies to empower countries and institutions across the region to deliver meaningful improvements at every level, particularly as technical and administrative progress accelerates.
